DCE Joshua Craig

I was born, baptized, raised, confirmed, and married in the LCMS in the
Michigan District. I attended an LCMS grade school from preschool
through eighth grade and the local public high school until I graduated
in 2010. I graduated from CUAA in May of 2017 with a Bachelor’s in
Family Life Education and a minor in Youth Ministry. As part of my
education, I served a practicum with a chaplain at a senior living
community and a six-month internship as a Director of Family Life
Ministry. During my schooling, I served as a Director of Youth Ministry
for several congregations. My first call was as a Director of Christian
Education at a congregation in Canton, Ohio.

I was married on January 1, 2017 to Madelyn, whom I met on the CUAA
campus. We had our daughter, Isabella Rose, on March 13, 2019 and our
son, Matthew James, was born on March 14, 2021. In my free-time I love
to read and to watch Netflix or Hulu with my family. I am a University
of Michigan football fan and try to watch every game. I love going on
walks with my wife and enjoy our long discussions. We both enjoy swing
dancing together. I’m kind of a nerd, so I play video games, watch
anime, and I even play D&D. I love to talk things out, because I’m a
verbal processor and I love to make lists to organize my thoughts. I
keep a paper schedule book on me at all times. If it’s not in the book,
I’ll forget it.

Maddy has a four year degree in English and is a self-published author
of 2 books with more in the works. She is a housewife and a stay-at-home
mother who loves to sing, play guitar and piano, paint, write, and read.
She is has a fascination with history and linguistics and apologetics.
She was homeschooled as a child and having been raised on a farm, she
loves all animals of various kinds, except spiders and other creepy
crawlies. She loves to watch historical dramas and read classic
literature. She also loves sea shanties and bar songs and has learned to
play/sing several on her guitar.

We plan to homeschool our children as they begin to enter that age.
Bella is already curious and extroverted. She will literally go up and
hug just about anyone and is never afraid to say what she is thinking.
She loves playing at parks and stuffed animals and meeting new friends.
It feels like she is always on the move and always doing something. I
have it on good authority that she takes after me. Matthew is a little
more quiet and introverted, but he is also cuddly and gives great hugs!
He explores and plays with his sister, but sometimes he'll just sit and
cuddle with you for long periods of time. He's already folding his hands
and trying to sing with us during our nightly devotions. Both of our
kids are great and happy to meet new people!

Alexis Wasson, Parish Administrator

Alexis Sikkink Wasson was born in Tulsa and was baptized at Grace by Pr. Karl Frese. In 1967 she moved with her husband to Alaska where she lived for 32 years. While there she worked various jobs as a bookkeeper, school bus driver, commercial fisherman, and mainly as an employee for the State of Alaska at the Unemployment Office. She returned to Tulsa in 1999 and attended CTR. In 2005 she read an “advertisement” in their bulletin about an employment position at Grace. She applied and was hired as the Office Administrator where she remains today. Alexis feels honored to be part of Grace’s staff and to be a member of such a caring congregation. Alexis has three grown children (two living in Alaska, and one in Texas), and 7 grandchildren.
